 e2e4 Coventry Congress will take place on 23rd - 26th August 2013 at the Holiday Inn, M6 Junction 2, Hinckley Road, Coventry, CV2 2HP.
The popular August bank holiday event will be held this year at the Holiday Inn Coventry. The hotel is superbly located next to local shops, restaurants and leisure facilities and is easy to get to by road or by rail. We have a FIDE Open and FIDE Under 1950 (165 ECF) which are both FIDE rated, together with a Under 135 section. All three sections are ECF graded.
As usual, this event is 7 rounds so offers a great opportunity to get good quality games in a competitive but friendly environment.
Pairings in all sections will be according to FIDE swiss pairing rules, using the Swiss Master computer program.
Time Control in All Sections: All moves in 90 minutes plus 30 seconds per move increments from move 1. All games will be played using digital clocks. Re-pairing may take place 30 minutes after the start of a round.
FIDE Ratings from the July 2013 list will be used for the FIDE rated sections, whilst ECF grades published in the January 2013 list will be used for unrated players. All sections will be FIDE rated and ECF graded.
Players without a FIDE rating, or ECF grade must give details of estimated playing strength, including any current or previously held grading or rating.
