Jorge Cori wins Balaguer Open Print

The 18th Open Internacional D’Escacs Ciutat de Balaguer took place on 15-23rd July at the Casal de Ciudad Lapallavacara in Balaguer, Spain.

The tournament was played over nine rounds of Swiss system with 10,000 EUR in prizes.

The 18-years old Peruvian rising star GM Jorge Cori emerged clear winner of the tournament after concluding the race with 7,5 points. Cori earned 2100 EUR for the effort.

Russian GM Vladimir Burmakin is second with 7,0 points, while the top seed GM Ni Hua of China took the third place on tie-breaks.
