Simultaneous exhibition at the Ostankino tower Print

chess newsWell-known WGM and television host Elmira Mirzoeva will give a simultaneous exhibition on Thursday, April 18th at the observation deck of the Ostankino television and radio tower located in Moscow, Russia.

The tower is currently the tallest freestanding structure in Europe and sixth tallest in the world at 540,1 meters.

The tower was the first free-standing structure to exceed 500 m (1,600 ft) in height. The observation deck, where the simul will be held, is 337 meters above ground.

Elmira Mirzoeva is a strong Russian Woman Grandmaster and a chess commentator for the Sport TV Channel.

Her opponents will be 10 prominent public and political figures of the country. The combination of an outstanding location plus a good set of opponents is planned to work as a great promotion for chess.
