 Albanian Chess Federation is organizing the International Chess Tournament Durrës 2013. The tournament will be played from 04th – 11th May 2013 according to the Swiss System in 9 rounds in the Conference hall of the hotel "Bleart" in Durrës.( www.hotelbleart.com)
The tournament schedule is as follows:
04th May (Saturday) 15:30 Opening Ceremony / 16:00 1st round
05th May (Sunday) 09:30 2nd round
05th May (Sunday) 16:30 3rd round
06th May (Monday) 16:00 4th round
07th May (Tuesday) 16:00 5th round
08th May (Wednesday) 16:00 6th round
09th May (Thursday) 16:00 7th round
10th May (Friday) 16:00 8th round
11th May (Saturday) 10:00 9th round
The prize fund is € 8,650.00 and it will be divided into 15 regular and 10 special prizes.
Regular prizes:
1. € 1, 500.00 6. € 500.00 11. € 200.00

3. € 800.00 8. € 300.00 13. € 100.00
4. € 700.00 9. € 300.00 14. € 100.00

Total for regular prizes = € 7,200.00
The prizes are divided according to the Hort system of progressive distribution and may not be accumulated (each player is entitled to win one prize at most).
Special prizes:
1. First -placed woman € 200.00
2. Second - placed woman € 100.00
1. First -placed junior (born in 1993 or later) € 150.00
2. Second- placed junior € 100.00
1. First-placed player with rating U -2000 ELO € 200.00
2. Second- placed player with rating U -2000 ELO € 150.00
3. Third -placed player with rating U -2000 ELO € 100.00
1. First-placed player with rating 2000- 2200 ELO € 200.00
2. Second -placed player with rating 2000- 2200 ELO € 150.00
3. Third -placed player with rating 2000- 2200 ELO € 100.00
Total for special prizes = € 1450.00
Note: In order for a special prize to be awarded in one of the categories, it is necessary that at least three players participate in the category. These prizes are not divided.
Important information about the tournament:
• The tournament will be valid for FIDE rating
• The organizer guarantees the participation of the minimum of 20 titled players (GM, IM) necessary for winning norms for international titles
• The tournament is played in 9 rounds according to the Swiss System (computer pairing)
• The rate of play: 90 minutes for 40 moves + 30 minutes for the rest of the game with the increment of 30 seconds per move starting from move one.
Entry fee
• The entry fee is € 25.00, while GMs, IM chess players and invited players are under no obligation to pay for the entry fee.
• The entry fee for the junior players U-18 players is € 15.00
Registration deadline: 04 May, 2013 at 12;00
The closing ceremony and prize awarding will take place 30 minutes after the finish of the final round.
Accommodation
Accommodation is provided in the 4 stars Hotel “Bleart“Durres, Shkembi i Kavajes.
The prices per person per day are:
Full board in a double room € 30 .00
Full Board in a single room € 45.00.
