IM Franco Alonso Alejandro (29) of San Sebastian (ESP) winner of First Saturday GM tournament in June was only one game away of his second tournament victory and second GM norm playing at high level throughout the event. However, he stumbled in the last round against another talented young GM candidate Antipov Mikhail Al. (RUS) who thus won the tournament also missing the GM norm by half a point. He played so well that it is hard to believe he is only 15.

The IM section brought Chinese success. FM Hou Qiang won his second IM tournament in Hungary within a month as he also made an IM norm at Kecskemet Caissa IM tournament two weeks earlier. This has been his fourth IM norm so the title depends only on minimum rating requirement (2400) to reach.

Hou Quiang
FM Hou Quiang (CHN)

FM Kantor Gergely (HUN) the youngest player of the group (13) made a great finish despite suffering from a cold.

The higher Rating section lined up extremely talented youth players against extremely experienced adults. Success of the youth was overwhelming. Bohus Adam (11) (HUN) the youngest of the group remained unbeaten stunning both the opponents and the spectators with his mature play. He collected as many as 40 rating points. He plays for a second division Hungarian team Tata (Genius) coached by FM Gabor Akots.
Farkas Richard (15)
(HUN) shows the same level for years now and sooner or later he will make a jump to the IM section, just some hardworking attitude is still missing. Grimm Gyorgy (15) (HUN) also unbeaten contributed to the victorious performance of the youth.
