chess newsThe 10th Open International d’Echecs du Jura was held on 16-18th November at the Sociét’halle in Moutier, Switzerland. The tournament was played over 5 rounds of Swiss system with the Fischer time control 90′+30”. 98 players competed.

The entry fee was 70 CHF, while titled players enrolled for free. The prizes were CHF 1’500.-, 1’000.-, 800.-, 400.-, 200.-, 5×100.-

Grandmasters Sanikidze Tornike 2568, Maze Sebastien 2561, IM Battaglini Gabriel 2434 and Staub Ludovic 2158 shared the first place with 4,5/5 points each. Sanikidze was declared winner on superior tie-break.

Top seeded GM Sokolov Andrei (France 2577) finished in the group of nine players with 4,0 points each.
