The Chess Tournament Magistral Casino de Barcelona 2012 was held on 23-31st October at the Casino of Barcelona (Marina Avenue, 19-21) as a ten-player round robin.
Russian GM Sanan Sjugirov, presently ranked as 10th on the World Junior List, had a fantastic run to convincingly take a clear first place with 7/9 points, leaving the 2nd-placed GM Yuniesky Quesada a full point behind.
