India National Premier Chess Championship 2012 Print

chess newsThe 50th National Premier Chess Championship is set to take place from 30th September to 14th October, 2012, in Kolkata. The Championship is organized by the Dibyendu Barua Chess Academy & Allsport Management, on behalf of All India Chess Federation and under the aegis of West Bengal Chess Adhoc Committee.

The Championship will be played under FIDE Laws of Chess and under Swiss system. The Time control is 90 minutes each for the first 40 moves and 30 minutes each for the remaining game, with an addition of 30 sec per move from move number one.

Irrespective of the number of entries the tournament will be of 13 rounds Swiss system with one round per day. The following players are eligible to participate:
a) All GM’s
b)Top 6 from National Premier, 2011 (Including GM’s)
c) Top 30 from National Challengers, 2012
d) National Junior Boys Champion , 2011
e) National Junior Girls Champion, 2011
f) Top 2 from National Women Premier, 2011
g) Top 2 from National Under 25 Championship, 2012
h) Two nominees of AICF Secretary

TOTAL PRIZE FUND- Rs. 5,00,000/-
(Cash prize will not be shared in case of tie)

1st 1,50,000/- + Trophy
2nd 90,000/- +
3rd 60,000/- +
4th 35,000/-
5th 25,000/-
6th 20,000/-
7th 15,000/-
8th – 15th 10,000/- each
16th – 20th 5,000/- each
 
All the participants should get their names registered with AICF for the year 2012. Registration forms will be available at the venue. Those who are already registered should produce proof. No unregistered player will be entitled to participate in this Championship. Players from West Bengal need WBCAC registration for the year 2012 with payment of Rs.100/-. Already registered players should produce proof.

Single Zone in Asia: - As India has been given single zone status, the players to qualify for World Cup will be identified from this Championship.
