Although there was sunny weather and mild summer outside, lots of great players chose to rather take part in First Saturday, making one of its strongest selection for the period of 4-13 August 2012 in Budapest, Hungary.

As chief-arbiter of this event, Istvan Brindza (IA) informed us, no player could achive any norm. In the GM group, Gonzalez Bernal from Costa Rica became the gold medalist with 5.5 points out of 9 games. Right after him there was a draw of four players having 5 points: Flumbort Andras Dr (HUN, GM), Toth Ervin (HUN, IM), Akshayraj Kore (IND, IM) and Lioe Dede (INA, IM) from other highly qualified players.

Altogether there were 60 people from 17 different countries and 32 came from abroad keeping First Saturday one of the most international event in the world. Actually not just international but also very respected: ten Indonesian players took part by the geneorisity of Koni Provinsi DKI Jakarta (http://www.konidki.or.id/) that sponsored their participation. Moreover the Indonesian Ambassador and his colleagues visited every day their citizens: how they performed and what they need. Most probably that is the interest that could make any player more satisfied with their home country.

Venue of this wonderful event was the excellently renewed and air-conditioned Conference Hall of the Hotel MEDOSZ, which gives an ideal home for the First Saturday series.
