 The 44th Annual Atlantic Open will be held from August 24-26, 2012, at the Washington Westin Hotel, 1400 M St NW at Thomas Circle, Washington, DC.
The event has a $20,000 unconditionally guaranteed prize fund.
The event has 7 sections: Open, Under 2100, Under 1900, Under 1700, Under 1500, Under 1300 and Under 1000. All sections are 5 round Swiss tournaments with 3-day and 2-day schedules to play in.
Open Section: $2000-1000-500-300, clear or tiebreak 1st $100 bonus, top U2300/Unr $1200-600. FIDE rated.
Under 2100 Section: $1500-700-400-200.
Under 1900 Section: $1500-700-400-200.
Under 1700 Section: $1500-700-400-200.
Under 1500 Section: $1300-700-400-200.
Under 1300 Section: $1200-600-300-200.
Under 1000 Section: $400-300-200-100, trophies to top 3, first U800, U600, Unrated.
