The Chess Association of "Hamadan" province on behalf of I.R.Iran Chess Federation has the honor to invite all players from national federations to participate in the 11th Avicenna International Chess Open Tournament with $10,000 in cash prizes which will be held in Hamadan, Iran, from August  22-29, 2012. PARTICIPATION:

1.     Participation in the 11th Avicenna International Chess Tournaments open to all.

2.     Each National Chess Federation has right to nominate and send one player as official invited
player.

3.     Organizing Committee shall provide free participation, domestic Transfer (from Tehran to
Hamadan and return) and full board accommodation (with 3 meals per day) in Arian Hotel, for GM title holders.

4.     IM title holders (Rating above 2400) will have accommodation in Arian Hotel (breakfast
only).

REGISTRATION FEE:

Registration is free for GMs and IM players with FIDE ratings of 2400 and above.

HOTEL & ACCOMMODATION & PLAYING VENUE:

1.     Accommodation and full board will be provided in Arian Hotel

2.     All GM title holders and players with rating 2400 and above shall be Provided free full board accommodation, from August22 to 29,2012

3.     Every player with rating 2400 to 2499 shall pay USD 35 per day for full board accommodation.

4.     Accommodation fee for other players is USD 45 for each person per day.

5.     A dormitory (6 board rooms) with a good quality is also available for players. The cash for
whole the tournament is 80 USD for each player.

Cash prize shall be shared equally among tied players.
TOURNAMENT SYSTEM:

1-    The Avicenna International Chess Open Tournament will be played in 11 rounds using the Swiss
System.

2-    The time control shall be 90 minutes for the whole game with an increment of 30 seconds per move
starting from move1.

3-    The FIDE Laws of Chess shall apply. The tournament will be FIDE rated.

4-    The Swiss Manager program shall be used for pairings.
