World School Championships has started in Iasi, Romania, in the presence of WGM Elisabeta Polihroniade, FIDE honorary member, and Alexander Kostyev - President of ISCU. Romanian Chess Federation President, Constantin Dumitriu, and Iasi Chess County Association President, Vasile Manole, have welcomed a record number of participants: 532 young players from 37 countries! Chess in School strategy of FIDE and promoting chess among pupils reached a new peak!
