Bad Ragaz Oster-Open in Switzerland Print

The International Bad Ragaz Oster-Open took place on 5-9th April at the Great Hall in Mehrzweckgebäude, Bad Ragaz, Switzerland. The tournament was played over 7 rounds of Swiss system. Top prizes were CHF 1'000 / 700 / 500 / 400 / 300 etc.

103 players took participation. IM Branko Filipovic, member of Basel Sorab chess club, took a clear first place with 6 points. GM Thomas Paehtz, IM Marinus Kuijf and Prof Matthias Kiese shared the 2nd place with 5.5 points each.

Bad Ragaz is a municipality in the Wahlkreis (constituency) of Sarganserland in the canton of St. Gallen in Switzerland.

It is the home of a famous natural spring and is a popular spa and health resort destination. One of the largest spa hotels is the Grand Hotel Quellenhof.
