In the 5th round of the EIWCC the leader of the tournament Marie Sebag, who was keeping an absolute result, gave away first half a point as she made a draw against Russian player Valentina Gunina. She was immediately caught by Cristina-Adela Foisor, who defeated Nino Khurtsidze.

Georgian player blundered a rook in slightly better endgame and had to resign immediately. Thanh Trang Hoang became the third leader as she proved to be stronger in the game against Nastassia Ziaziulkina. Six players have 4 points and share fourth place half a point behind the group of leaders.

Players from top ten Nana Dzagnidze and Nadezhda Kosintseva still can not improve their tournament situation.
