The ACP Women Cup is taking place from February 17th-21st, 2012 in Tbilisi, Georgia. Round Robin tournament with twelve participants will be played with the time control of 20 minutes per game with an increment of five seconds per move. Three former World Champions Antoaneta Stefanova, Maia Chiburdanidze, Alexandra Kosteniuk and current European Champion Victoria Cmilyte are among participants.

The total prize fund of the event is 40,000 USD (10,000 USD for the first prize) is provided by the main sponsor of Georgian chess federation SOCAR Energy Georgia, Ltd.  The organizers of the event are ACP and Georgian chess federation. 

 

Opening ceremony of the ACP Women Cup was held in the Youth Palace in Tbilisi on 17^th of February. It included speeches, music, dance performances, and the drawing of lots.

The pairings of the first round: Kosintseva N. – Dzagnidze, Muzychuk – Zatonskih, Mamedjarova – Chiburdanidze, Cmilyte – Stefanova, Lahno – Kosteniuk, Kosintseva T. – Cramling.
