Twelve Turkmen players at First Saturday Budapest 04-14th February events Print

The traditional monthly First Saturday Chess event takes place in the Hotel MEDOSZ Restaurant Hall. There is one GM and IM section besides three FIDE-Rating groups.

With the leadership of GM Orazly Annageldyev who is an educational coach of youth there are 12 Turkmen players amongst the 53 overall participants.

Three of them namely Orazly Annageldyev (GM 2396), Suhrab Semiev (IM 2386), Yusup Atabayev (FM 2417) participate in the GM section which runs with 12 players Round-Robin with average rating at 2413.

Two of the Turkmen play for titles in the IM section while the others are fighting for rating points in the FIDE-masters groups.

Their chief coach expressed that the highest Turkmen Sports Organization is going to delegate as many participants as possible to European sports events in the frame of a project of opening both politically and economically towards Europe.

The First Saturday Budapest organizer IO NAGY, Laszlo and his Turkmeni friends plan to organize in Ashgabad, the capital of Turkmenistan a big Open chess tournament from 18th until 26th August this year.

Turkmenistan has the fifth biggest natural gas resources of the world.
