Levon Aronian defeated Hikaru Nakamura in the longest and most interesting game of the day to take the lead in the 2012 edition of the Tata Steel chess tournament (replay game with analysis here). All other games of the round finished draw, except for the victory of the young Italian Grandmaster Fabiano Caruana against Sergey Karjakin.
