The 12th Arab Games 2011 take place from December 9th to 23, 2011 in Doha (Qatar). The second round of the Team Championship was held on 14th of December. In men tournament Morocco and Algeria defeated their opponents from Emirates and Jordan accordingly. After unexpected draws in the first round, Egypt and Qatar gathered their strength and defeated Somali and Sudan with 4:0 and 3.5:0.5 scores. As a result Morocco and Algeria share the first place with 4 team points and will play against each other in the third round as well as Egypt and Qatar which share the third place in the tournament.

Algeria and Morocco also keep leading in women section. In the second round both teams won the matches against Emirates and Palestine accordingly. Iraq defeated Libya 4:0 and Jordan was stronger in the competitive match against Egypt. Due to an odd number teams in women tournament Qatari team had a rest day.
