Vladimir Kramnik Wins London Chess Classic 2011 |

 The London Chess Classic 2011, the strongest tournament in the history of British chess, was held on 3-12 December 2011 at the Olympia Conference Centre, Kensington.
In the final round Vladimir Kramnik played solidly to secure a draw against Levon Aronian and take the first place. Magnus Carlsen might still have the shared money but he had the worst of a long draw with Nigel Short.
Hikaru Nakamura played the King's Gambit against Michael Adams and a fascinating game ensued. Adams seemed to have the better of a complicated struggle but he blundered near the time control, allowing Nakamura to win and snatch second place overall.
Magnus Carlsen finished third and Luke McShane fourth.

3. Carlsen Magnus - 14.0
4. McShane Luke - 13.0
5. Anand Viswanathan - 9.0 black win
6. Aronian Levon - 9.0 white win
7. Short Nigel - 6.0
8. Howell David - 4.0
9. Adams Michael - 3.0
