Liga de Ajedrez de Bogota organized the 2nd Jahv McGregor de Ajedrez ITT from 6th to 11th December at the Centro Comercial Calima Calle 19 in Bogota, Colombia.
Following the tremendous success of the last year’s event, Jahv McGregor repeated the sponsorship and provided yet another massive chess event in Colombia.
The main Magistral tournament had 378 players from 14 countries competing over the 10 rounds of Swiss system and for the prize fund of 16.000 USD.
Grandmasters Lazaro Bruzon, Sergei Tiviakov and Bartlomiej Macieja shared the first place with 8.5 points each. Bruzon takes the trophy home thanks to the best tie-break score.
U15 tournament had 41 players – Sosa Florez Luis Felipe took a clear first place with 6.5/7 points
U12 event had 47 players – Castillo Barajas Jonhatan and Jimenez Leonardo Andres shared the first place with 6.0/7 each
U10 event had 50 players – Ribero Guillermo Andres is clear first with 6.5/7
U7 event had 30 players – Jimenez Alvarado Jimmy Joseph is the winner with the perfect score of 7.0/7
