The 32nd Edoardo Crespi Trophy is set to take place from 3rd to 11th December in the large tournament hall of Chess Club in Milan, via Sant’Uguzzone 8.

ADMISSIONS

Participation is open to all Italian and foreign players. All Italian and foreign players who are resident in Italy must show a valid FSI membership card for the current year or subscribe on site at the tournament venue, provided they apply for membership to the “Società Scacchistica Milanese” for the current year.

The festival consists of 5 separate tournaments:

MASTER: for players with FIDE rating or Italian Elo rating equal to or more than 2000;

OPEN “A”: for players with FIDE rating or Italian Elo rating between 1750 and 2050, both included;

OPEN “B”: for players with Italian Elo rating or FIDE rating less than 1800;

OPEN “C” UNRATED PLAYERS: for players with Italian Elo rating or FIDE rating less than 1500;

OPEN “UNDER 16”: for all players born after 31th December 1995.

All foreign players without FIDE rating are required to prove their playing strength by showing the arbiters an official document issued by their national federation or other evidence testifying their playing strength, or else they will be admitted into Open “A”.

The organization reserves the unquestionable right to admit to each tournament up to 3 players belonging to another category.

PLAYING HALL

The playing venue is the large tournament hall of our Chess Club in Milan, via Sant’Uguzzone 8.

RATINGS AND NORMS

Master tournament valid for GM and IM norms. Norms and Elo FIDE  variations according to FIDE rules.

Titles, promotions and Elo Italia variations according to FSI rules (Regolamento Tecnico Federale).

RATE OF PLAY

MASTER TOURNAMENT: 90’ x 40 moves + 30’ for the rest of the game with 30’’ increment from the first move.

“A” - “B” OPEN TOURNAMENTS: 100’ + 30” increment from the first move.

“C” UNRATED PLAYERS OPEN TOURNAMENT: 2 hours QPF.

“UNDER 16” OPEN TOURNAMENT: 2 hours QPF.

ROUNDS AND PAIRINGS

Rounds according to the playing schedule as shown in this regulation.

Pairing according to Swiss system; Bucholz count, FIDE (Cut1) variant adopted.

ADMISSION DEADLINE: December 2 FOR MASTER TOURNAMENT, December 6 FOR OTHER TOURNAMENTS

Registration at the playing hall is allowed with an additional fee of €10. DEADLINE is two hours before the pairing of the tournament.

Entries will be accepted on a first-come first-serve basis.

The registration to the tournament  implies the unconditioned acceptance of all present terms and conditions.

Players who arrives at the chessboard more than 60 minutes after the scheduled start of the session shall lose the game.

Referees decisions are final.

The organizer reserves the right to amend all present rules and conditions due to force majeure or for the success of the event.
The organizer will assume no liability for damages to persons or personal properties before, during and after the tournament.
