 The International Chess Festival "Istanbul Open 2011" is taking place in Istanbul from 11 September (the date of arrival) to 18 September 2011 (the date of departure).
Two Open Tournaments (A and B) are made up according to the rating of the participants. This time, the Qualification Tournament for the Blitz Tournament will be held within the festival, in addition to the open tournaments.
99 players in Open A and 293 in Open B compete. Top rated are GM Andrey Sumets UKR 2579, GM Konstantine Shanava GEO 2562, GM Oleg Romanishin UKR 2537 and GM Valeriy Neverov UKR 2508.
The total prize fund of the tournaments is USD 14.200 and TRL 1000 for Blitz Tournament. First place 2500 USD, second 2000 USD.
