International Open Tournament Pula 2011 Print

The 25th International Open Tournament Pula 2011 is taking place from 18th to 25th June at the Hotel Histria in Pula, Croatia. The organizers, Croatian Chess Federation and Chess Club "Pula", have provided 11.000 EUR for the prize fund.

This popular tournament has attracted a large number of players, with 360 people taking participation in the 9-round event. Last year winner was GM Robert Zelcic.

After five rounds of play top seeded GM Aleksandar Kovacevic (SRB 2575) is leading the rankings with perfect score.

Nine players, namely GM Fercec Nenad CRO 2453, GM Zelcic Robert CRO 2557, GM Tratar Marko SLO 2489, IM Mencinger Vojko SLO 2399, IM Bellia Fabrizio ITA 2415, GM Drazic Sinisa SRB 2486, GM Antal Gergely HUN 2530, IM Doric Darko CRO 2456 and GM Shengelia David AUT 2511, are sharing the second place with 4.5 points each.
