The Armenian Chess Federation is organizing the 4th Annual Karen Asrian Memorial, an international open chess tournament, which will take place during June 15-25, 2011, in the prominent resort town of Jermuk. All interested chess players can participate in the 9-round Swiss tournament.

Prizes: The total prize fund is equal to the dram equivalent of 15,000 US dollars. 1st place 3000 2nd place 2000 3rd place 1500 4th place 1200 5th place 1000 6-10th places 500 11-15th places 200

For the participants who take the 1st-3rd places in the tournament, there will also be additional valuable prizes.
In case of a tie, the monetary prizes are distributed equally. Each prizewinner can win only one prize. If any prizewinner qualifies to receive two equal-valued prizes /main and special/, then he/she will receive only the main prize.
Time Control: 90 minutes for the first 40 moves + 30 minutes for the remainder of the game (with 30 seconds increment starting from the first move).
Hotel and food: Participants will be offered hotel accommodation at Jermuk Ashkhar sanatorium. The price for a shared lodging in a double room is 7000 AMD per person, and the price for the same room occupied by only one person is 10000 AMD (on the 2-4 floors). Correspondingly, the price for a room on the renovated 5th floor is 10000 AMD (in case of sharing a double bedroom) and 15000 AMD (in case of use by a single person).
Men, whose rating is 2600 and above, as well as women, whose rating is 2450 and above, will be provided with free of charge single rooms. International Grandmasters with a rating 2550 and above and Women’s Grandmasters will be provided with free of charge lodging in shared double rooms.
All above-mentioned options include 3 meals a day.
Transportation: The organizers of the tournament will provide foreign participants with transportation in case of preliminary requests. Bus: Yerevan, Chess House after Tigran Petrosian - Jermuk - June 15, 12:00 Return: Jermuk - Yerevan - June 25, 10:00 Two-way ticket: 7000 AMD per person
