Italy and Denmark 1 have split points in the 4th round of the European Senior Teams Championship and Russia used this opportunity to catch the leaders after a narrow victory against Germany.
Finland 1 and Montenegro also played a level match, while Israel 1 bounced back after yesterday’s loss and dispatched Catalonia with a 3-1 victory.
There was an opportunity to observe several clashed between Grandmasters. Evgeni Vasiukov returned to Russia ranks and inflicted a loss to the legendary Wolfgang Uhlmann from Germany. Yrjo Rantanen defeated Bozidar Ivanovic, while Mark Tseitlin drew Orestes Rodriguez Vargas.
Italy, Denmark 1 and Russia are leading on the scoreboard with 7 points each. Israel 1, Finland 1, Scotland and Montenegro are close behind.
