European Seniors Team Championship Round 2

The European Senior Teams Championshipcontinued today at the Dion Palace Resort with the round two games. Russia defeated Scotland 3-1 despite the loss on the first board where IM Craig Pritchett outplayed the top rated player in the tournament GM Evgeni Vasiukov.

Similar outcome on the second table where Germany won 3-1 against Switzerland, but the legendary Grandmaster Wolfgang Uhlmann lost with black pieces after setting a risky Accelerated Dragon.

Turkey could not repeated the excellent result from the round one as Finland 1, with Grandmasters Rantanen and Westerinen, proved to be too strong.

Seven teams, namely Israel 1, Italy, Germany, Finland 1, Denmark 1, Russia and Montenegro, are sharing the lead with perfect score. Top round three matches will be Montenegro vs Russia, Germany vs Finland 1, Denmark 1 vs Italy and Austria vs Italy.
