Emre Can becomes Turkish Champion Print

The 2010-2011 Turkish Chess Championship took place in Kemer, Antaliya from February 4th to February 13th. 257 players competed in the tournament with Swiss system, over 10 rounds. Among them were 17 titled players - 3 Grandmasters, 4 International Masters and 2 Women International Masters.

This year the Turkish Chess Federation introduced an impressive prize fund of 30.000 TL (approximately 15.000 euro). The 20-years old GM Emre Can scored 8.5 points, finishing half a point ahead of 5 players, and became the champion of Turkey. IM Mustafa Yilmaz and Topak Engin became silver and bronze medalists accordingly.
