The 60th Greek Chess Championship was played from 26th November to 4th December at the Hotel Alkyon, between Patras and Athens. Ten players competed in the round robin tournament - 5 GMs, 1 IM, 1 FM and three untitled.

Vasilios Kotronias defeated three fellow Grandmasters in the course of the event and collected a total of 7.0 points which netted him the title of the national champion. Three followers remained only half a point behind.
