Borloy Androvitzky Karoly, Hungarian master, /1922-2000/, his widow sponsored the First Saturday GM-tournament in August now.

64 players of 19 countries (AUS, BUL, CHN, DEN, ENG, GER, HUN, IRL, ISL, ISR, ITA, LIB, MNE, NED, RUS, SLO,TUR, VIE, USA, ) met at First Saturday Budapest competing for FIDE-titles and ratings. No matter how high the requirements are for FIDE-titles, some talented youngsters always achieve it. 17 years old Mihok, Oliver (HUN) who has made his first GM norm has been familiar with success since long ago.

He was U12 Champion of EU as early as 2004 in Mureck (AUT). He also won gold medal as a member of the Hungarian U18 team at Pardubice (CZE) European Youth Team Championship. His main coach has always been his father FM Laszlo Mihok. Joining to Makoi Spartacus SVSE a first division Hungarian club this year gave another impulse to his quiet mature play.

Another 17 year old boy Szabo Bence (HUN) achieved his third IM-norm in the same group after round nine having TPR over 2450.

His coach is IM Pal Petran who deserves high respect since he was also coach of two Hungarian Olympic team members GM Almasi Zoltan and GM Balogh Csaba for many years.

There were 32 more players playing in the Rating Tournament sections. As usual it brought a tough battle of teenagers against adults having great routine. However, the youngest participant Bohus Adam (HUN) was not even 10, but only nine years old. He succeeded in winning rating points against opponents that looked so formidable at the beginning but not by the end. The youngest player took third place in his group.
Henrichsen Jens (DEN) deserves fair play reward since he refused winning by forfeiting his opponent because his mobile gave a sound and finally lost that game.
Results of all groups with all games and more photos are available at: www.firstsaturday.hu While our next events are scheduled at 4-14th September.
