The György Marx Memorial 2010 concluded this Monday in Paks, Hungary. Main events were two six-player double round robins - Men tournament with average rating of 2629 and Women section with the legendary GM Nona Gaprindashvili leading the field.

Grandmaster Viktor Laznicka from Czech Republic won the tournament in a brutal manner, by collecting eight points from ten rounds, finishing two and a half points ahead of the opposition.

Hungarian Grandmasters Zoltan Almasi and Ferenc Berkes shared second with 5.5 points each.

In the Ladies tournament, the legendary World Champion GM Nona Gaprindashvili (Georgia) and IM Tatiana Kononenko (Ukraine) finished joint first with 6.5 points each. Good form in the finish helped them to overtake the earlier leader and top-seed IM Ildikó Mádl.

1. Viktor Laznicka (CZE 2638) - 8.0
2-3. Zoltan Almasi (HUN 2717) and Ferenc Berkes (HUN 2670) - 5.5
4. Peter Acs (HUN 2602) - 4.5
5. Jan Timman (NED 2586) - 3.5
6. Ray Robson (USA 2562) - 3.0

Final standings:
1-2. IM Tatiana Kononenko (UKR 2374) and GM Nona Gaprindashvili (GEO 2348) - 6.5
3. IM Ildikó Mádl (HUN 2401) - 5.5
4-5. WGM Lilit Galojan (ARM 2384) and IM Szidónia Vajda (HUN 2338) - 4.5
6. WIM Lili Tóth (HUN 2235) - 2.5
