The NH Chess Tournament Rising Stars vs Experience is being held on August 12th-22nd, in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The event is played according to Sheveningen system, all members of each team play all members of the other team twice.
The "Experience" team consists of Boris Gelfand (Israel), winner of the 2009 FIDE World Cup, Peter Svidler (Russia), Peter Heine Nielsen (Denmark), Loek van Wely (Netherlands) and legendary Ljubomir Ljubojevic (Serbia).
The "Rising Stars" are Hikaru Nakamura (2009 United States Champion), Fabiano Caruana (Italy), winner of the 2010 Biel International, Wesley So (Philippines), Anish Giri (Netherlands) and David Howell (England).
The Rising Star with the highest score will be invited to the 2011 Amber Blindfold and Rapid Tournament in Nice, provided that he scores over 50% in the NH Chess Tournament. In case his score is 50% or less, he and a partner of his choice will be invited to attend the 2011 Amber tournament as a guest. In case two players reach the same (best) score, a blitz tiebreaker will decide who will be invited to the 2011 Amber tournament as a player or a guest.
