The 4th International Chess Tournament A.D. San Juan was held from 24th July to 1st August at the Hotel "Iruña Park" in Pamplona, Spain.

In the main event, round-robin with 10 players, Grandmasters Radoslaw Wojtaszek and Laurent Fressinet maintained the position after round seven and finally shared the first place with 6.5 points each.

Top seeded Alexander Morozevich was on plus two in the early stage of the tournament, but three defeats in the finish pushed him deep down to the 8th place.

In the parallel 9-round Open with 124 participants, Cuban Grandmasters Lazaro Bruzon and Omar Almeida Quintana, and Ukrainian Mikhailo Oleksienko shared the first place with 7.0 points each.
