Participants of Brunei Invitational IM Tournament

The Brunei Chess Federation (BCF) is currently organizing back to back ten player round robin tournaments - Brunei Invitational IM Tournament 1 and Brunei Invitational IM Tournament 2 - at the Brunei Chess Centre in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam from 25 July to 4 August 2010.

In a short opening ceremony which was followed by a group photo of all participants, Hj Zainal Abidin Ali, BCF President welcomed the players representing 6 nations and also gave away prizes for a number of recent Rapid and Blitz events.


Even a President can be a Tournament winner

The participants include International Masters Oliver Barbosa from the Philippines, Nguyen Van Nuy and Duong The Ahn from Vietnam and Woman Grandmaster Irene Kharisma Sukandar from Indonesia with FIDE Master Ramnath Bhuvanesh from India and FIDE Master Yee Soon Wai and Md Aliuddin Hj Azahari from Brunei expected to have the best chances for IM norms.
