Vassily Ivanchuk Wins Capablanca Memorial Print

Vassily Ivanchuk convincingly won the Elite Group of the 45th Capablanca Memorial by collecting seven points from ten games. European champion Ian Nepomniachtchi remained on second place one point behind the winner. This was Ivanchuk's fourth participation and fourth victory in Havana, after he won the tournaments in 2005, 2006 and 2007.

The Elite Group was a six-player double round robin which took place on 10-20th June in Havana, Cuba. Leinier Dominguez and Nigel Short shared the third position, while Lazaro Bruzon Batista and Evgeny Alekseev remained together on the last place.
