International Chess Festival Eforie June 17 to 27, 2010 |

CS Eforie Siciliana, SCM Bucharest, Apa Nova Bucharest and ACS Central Chess Club Bucharest, together with the County Sports Hall of Constanta and Autority Eforie invite to the strongest open chess tournament ever held in Romania from 17 to 27 June 2010, the International Chess Festival Eforie 2010. We present some arguments supporting statement: MEDIA ELO of top 10 players in international tournaments Eforie enrolled in 17 to 27 June 2010 is 2594.6, the highest ELO average in history of Open tournaments held in Romania. The first edition of 2009, have 340 chess players took start from 12 countries! So far confirmed participation of delegates from 17 countries: Saudi Arabia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Georgia, Germany, Jordan, Israel, Lebanon, Lithuania, Nigeria, Poland, Moldova, Romania, Russian Federation, Turkey, Sweden, Ukraine. Organizers estimate (at this time!) until the beginning of the first round as the tournament was attended by representatives from over 25 countries! The prize fund is offered by the organizers of 55,600 lei, up from 3,500 lei last year. Unlike other organizers, the prize pool for this event is offered in full in cash and guaranteed regardless of the number of participants! Here are some of the players confirmed their participation:
- SERGEY FEDORCHUK, GM 2649, ninth place on the list of Ukraine ELO - VIOREL IORDĂCHESCU, GM 2621, second place on ELO list of Moldova ranked strong II tournament in Dubai in 2010; - ALEXEI FEDOROV, GM 2618 place the Belarusian ELO III on the list - MAXIM TUROV, GM 2609 the winner last year's edition of the Festival and winning Eforie strong tournament in India, Chennai Open 2010 - BORIS CHATALNASHEV, GM 2555, the current champion in 2010 in Bulgaria - CONSTANTIN LUPULESCU, GM 2598, the 2010 champion of Romania - DZIUBA, Marcin, GM 2586, VIII instead Poland ELO list - SULSKIS ŠARŪNAS, GM 2575, second place on the list of Lithuania ELO - CORINA PEPTAN, WGM 2411 the most titled players in the history of Romania.
