European Senior Chess Championships 2010 Print

After seven rounds of the European Senior Women Chess Championship 2010, WGM Elena Fatalibekova of Russia and WGM Tamar Khmiadashvili of Georgia are sharing the lead with 5.0 points each. The two have already met in round two, thus the final standings will depend on the scores against other players.

Former world champion GM Nona Gaprindashvili was defeated in previous round and probably ruined chances for the title. The next round in on Saturday at 10:00 local time.

The top-seed GM Vitaly Tseshkovsky outplayed the fellow GM Algimantas Butnorius in round seven of the European Senior Open Chess Championship 2010 and singled out on the top as sole leader with 5.5 points. His next challenge will be FM Viktor Turikov who broke through to the shared 2nd place. Other top games concluded in draws. Grandmasters Viktor Kupreichik and Gennadij Timoscenko are also with five points.
