Monthly event started on 6th March with four groups formed of the 44 registered participants. The 13 (!!!) countries represented are CAN, CHN, DEN, ENG, HUN, IND, ISR, JPN, NIG, SVK, UKR, USA, VIE.

GM group has 10 players, average 2423 which means 6.5 – 7 points required for GM-norms depending of average of opponents individually.

As first to Hungarian chess history from Nigeria plays Olape, Bunmi who is a leading player of the Nigerian Olympic squad. He started with a draw then victory against a strong IM.

FM-B group has 10 players, average 1671.

Our plan is to bring more and more African players to Budapest monthly so that they could also compete for GM and IM-norms and for FIDE-Ratings. In order to achieve that goal we get in contact with the African Chess Union and FIDE.
Those Africans interested should get in touch with Nagy Laszlo International Organizer by E mail: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , website: www.firstsaturday.hu
