About 130 players arrived in Nancy, France, this Monday for the first round of the 8th international chess festival. They will all compete in groups of 10-players round robins tournaments. All results are available on the official website.
The main event is a 10-player round robin Grandmaster tournament which will feature: GM Evgeny Postny (Israel 2648), GM Julio Granda Zuniga (Peru 2640, invited in partnership with the humanitarian association Nancy AYUD ' ART), GM Yannick Pelletier (Switzerland 2602), GM Yuri Solodovnichenko (Ukraine 2578), IM Nikolai Ninov (Bulgaria 2511), IM Alexey Charnushevich (France 2501), IM Anthony Wirig (France 2497), IM Jean-Baptiste Mullon (France 2458), IM Nicolas Brunner (France 2420) and reigning French Women Champion IM Sophie Milliet (2404).
