The National Chess Federation of the Philippines on behalf of FIDE and the Asian Chess Federation invites federations in Zones 3.1 to 3.6 to participate in the Asian Continental Individual Open and Women's Chess Championships 20 to 30 April 2010 in Subic Freeport, Olongapo. At stake are a total of $50,000 in cash prizes for the Open and $15,000 in cash prizes for the Women's, as with last year's championship.
The top five (5) from the 2010 Asian (Open) Championship shall qualify for the 2011 World Cup. The 2010 Asian Women's champion shall qualify for the 2012 Women's World Championship.
As approved by the Asian Continental Assembly, the Asian Open and Women's Championships shall henceforth be annual events.
