9th Schach-Open Burgdorf Print

The 9th Schach-Open Burgdorf was held on 19-21st February 2010 in Burgdorf, Switzerland. 111 players took participation in the 5-rounds event with accelerated Swiss pairing system. Both Grandmasters in the tournament, Mikhail Ulibin from Russia and Viesturs Meijers from Latvia, finished on the shared first place, but it was the third player, Hungarian IM Gyula Meszaros who claimed the honours on the best Bucholz score. The three collected 4.5 points each.

Final standings:
1-3. IM Gyula Meszaros (HUN 2417), GM Mikhail Ulibin (RUS 2548) and Viesturs Meijers (LAT 2470) - 4.5
4-10. Peter Zimmermann (SUI 2277), IM Miklos Galyas (HUN 2487), Gabriele Botta (SUI 2255, best U20), Benedict Hasenohr (SUI 2229, best U16), Frances Antognini (SUI 2247), Andreas Huss (SUI 2326, best senior) and Christo Drechsler (SUI 2256) - 4.0 etc
