$33,000 AFOC Ramadan Rapid Chess

The $33,000 Armed Forces Officers Club chess tournament is scheduled 23 to 26 August 2009 in Abu Dhabi. The 9-round Rapid Chess tournament will be played in four days with games starting 10pm. At the request of many players, organizers have returned to their traditional format of Rapid Chess. Three separate events will be played: a Masters Tournament, Open tournament and Ladies Tournament. The chess event is now on its third year and is organized by the Armed Forces Officers Club in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Chess and Culture Club. Download the registration form.
