A record number of players gathered for First Saturday Budapest June tournaments.

There are 62 participants from 13 countries and from four continents (AUT, BRA, CAN, ENG, FRA, GER, ISL, HUN, RSA, SLO, SWE, USA, VIE).

The GM group average is 2443 that means a 6.5 or 7 points/10 games GM-norm requirements depending on the average of opponents individually.

Thrilling race is on for the norms, and 19 year old SZABO Krisztian (HUN) has best chance to achieve it leading by 4.5 points tied with Kovacs Gabor (HUN) after six rounds. Szabo needs 6.5 while Kovacs 7 from nine games.

There are two IM groups where a group of young Austrian players step up surprisingly strong.
Hartl Daniel and Platzgummer Fabian (both AUT) took lead in the IM-A section by 5 points of 7 games each. Kjartansson Gudmundur (ISL) leads the IM-B by 4 points/6 games.
