Sharjah Wins Tie Over Al Ain in UAE Team Cup |

 Sharjah prevailed in the tie break over Al Ain Chess Club with 23 match points each to win the UAE Cup Teams Open Tournament held 26-28 March 2009 in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Abu Dhabi Chess Club scored 22 points to finish in third place. A total of 24 local and foreign teams of Clubs, companies and associations competed in the tournament. Each local club could register teams with a maximum of two foreign players in each team. The tournament was played as a 9 round Swiss System using Rapid time control of 20 minutes for the whole game with an increment of ten seconds per move.
