The preparations for the World School Championship and World Amateur Championship 2009 are running and Thessaloniki (a chess Olympic city) is ready to quest a world chess event after 20 years (1988 chess Olympiad).
In the chess section of Gamesfestival more than 600 players are expected producing a new participant record for the festival.
The event is hosted in the luxurious GRAND HOTEL PALACE in the west part of the city.
According to many requests the registrations are open till Monday 30 March 2009.
