The 10th edition of the Open Internacional de Sants chess tournament will take place 22-31 August, 2008. More than 571 players will participate in the different groups. From them 22 are GMs and 28 are IMs. Top seeded will be the Israeli players GM Evgeny Postny and GM Maxim Rodshtein. GM Holden, GM Almeida Quintana, GM Nijboer, and GM Narciso Dublan will also be present there.

Besides Rodshtein, more young strong participants will seek title at the competition. GM David Howell, who missed the World Junior title in the last rounds, and the Spanish U18 champion GM Ivan Salgado Lopez will strive for the first place.

The organizers have planned many interesting events, including a "fiesta a ritmo de musica" with IM Anna Matnadze and IM Tommy Asís, together with DJ Pere Durán.
