The Abu Dhabi Chess and Culture Club shall organize the Ramadan Open Chess Tournament from 6-11 September 2008 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The tournament shall be a 9-round Swiss System using Rapid chess time control of 30 minutes for each player plus 10 second increments per move from the start.

The event is part of the Armed Forces Officers Club 12th Open Sports Festival. Cash prizes over $57,000 shall be awarded in three divisions for Men, Women and Under-20 plus special awards for best in category.
