85 teams from 37 European Federations (64 men & 21 women) have registered for ECC2008! All the teams and their compositions are updating officially daily from the ECU Tournament Directors, Dirk De Ridder and Werner Stubenvoll at http://www.chess-results.com. Moreover in the official site http://ecc2008.chessdom.com, each participating team will have one page with team composition, logo, photos, brief description and interviews. So you are encouraged to send your club info (photos, history, players, views, targets e.t.c.) direct to the web team

THE CHESS TOP PLAYERS IN HALKIDIKI!
According to the team compositions many famous chess players will be in Halkidiki supporting their teams. Among them, Morozevich Alexander 2788, Ivanchuk Vassily 2781, Carlsen Magnus 2775, Radjabov Teimour 2744, Mamedyarov Shakhriyar 2742, Shirov, Alexei 2741, Svidler Peter 2738, Aronian Levon 2737 Adams Michael 2735, Grischuk, Alexander 2728, Karjakin Sergey 2727, Kamsky Gata 2726, Movsesian Sergei 2723, Gelfand Boris 2720 , Vugar Gashimov 2717, Ponomariov Ruslan 2712, Jakovenko Dmitry 2709, Alekseev Evgeny 2708, Milov Vadim 2705, Koneru Humpy 2622, Xie Jun 2574, Stefanova Antoaneta 2550, Kosintseva Tatiana 2511 and many more.
EUROPEAN CHESS UNION HONORS GM KAREN ASRIAN.
ECU made a very sensitive decision after a letter and request of the Armenian Chess Federation. The young Armenian Player and Olympic Champion GM Karen Asrian passed away suddenly before the start of the Armenian Chess League. His Team Bank King could not replace him and finally playing without him tied in the positions 1-3 taking finally the third position in the tiebreak. ECU after consultation and with the O.C. of ECC2008 decided to give a wild card of participation to Bank King honoring the memory of the young Grandmaster and the rest Olympic Armenian Champions.
TEAMS’ DRESSING CODE.
The Organizing Committee of ECC2008 has already requests and agreements to provide daily video reports for TV and Internet Channels worldwide. For that reason a special team preparing the TV material will be present in Halkidiki. ECU and Organizing Committee encourages all the teams in a same sports appearance during the games. For the participating teams which have not ready a sports appearance Organizing Committee will send soon a proposal for special designed T-Shirts with a player’s number and player’s name. The T-Shirts will be offered in a special dressing package in a reasonable price on request.
