The Asian Chess Federation plans to hold the 1st Asian Chess Club Championship organized by the Al Ain Chess Club under the auspices of the UAE Chess Federation December 2008 in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates. At stake will be the Al Ain Golden Cup and a total of $50,000 in cash prizes. The team event shall be a 7-round Swiss system with competition over four boards. National Federations may field one invited team and one extra team for a maximum of two teams each, with the host Al Ain Chess Club as one of the two UAE teams.
