SCF International Open Tournament in conjunction with 4th World Schools Individual Championships

The Singapore Chess Federation, in conjunction with the 4th World Individual Schools Championship to be held in Singapore from 22-31 July 2008, will also organise the SCF International Open Tournament 2008.

3. Time Control and Format

Swiss System; FIDE-rated and titled; Rate of play will be 90 minutes for the whole game with 30 seconds increment for every move starting from the first move.

4. Prize Fund : US$ 7,500

1^st US$ 2,000; 2^nd US$ 1,500; 3^rd US$ 1,000; 4^th US$ 800; 5^th US$ 600; 6^th US$400; 7^th to 12^th US$200 each.

5. Entry Fees to be payable by 15^th June 2008 ; thereafter shall be surcharged US$ 50 depending on availability of space.

Rating >2400 free; >2200 US$ 50; >2000 US$ 100; >1800 US$ 150; below 1801 US$ 200.

6. Hotel Bookings:

Players for the Open Tournament are not obliged to stay at the Official Hotels:

However proper booking must be done well in advance and based on availability.

We will not accept any booking on arrival.
