GM K. Sasikiran`s mammoth lead had already assured him of retaining his National `A` Championship title but the Women provided all the ingredients of a thriller. At the end of high tension drama, India`s latest WGM R.Aarthi emerged victorious. Games were broadcast live by the highly competent team of the organizing All India Chess Federation at the official tournament site of the Venus Chess Academy. GM K. Sasikiran`s mammoth lead had already assured him of retaining his National `A` Championship title but the Women provided all the ingredients of a thriller. At the end of high tension drama, India`s latest WGM R.Aarthi emerged victorious. The 40th National `A` and 29th National Women `A` Championships were held 18-31 January in Mumbai. The men`s event was a gruelling 21-player round robin. Games were broadcast live by the highly competent team of the organizing All India Chess Federation at the official tournament site of the Venus Chess Academy.
